Caye Caulker / Belize

go slowCaye Caulker is one of the gems of Belize. It is a place like no other, a tropical paradise.  Slow living, beautiful vistas of white sands and turquoise seas, with towering palms, swaying to the warm gentle breezes and the beat of reggae music.  Brightly colored houses dot the sandy lanes. The people are down to earth with an easy going pace of life, ready with a warm smile and a friendly hello.

The shops and restaurants are full of enticing Caribbean dishes and shell jewellery carved from the swirls of the plentiful conch shells. When you are in Caye Caulker, you will have to abandon the rush of your everyday life.  There are no cars, big buildings, or hustle bustle.  Your only choice is to relax and enjoy the sun, sea, food, music, and people. Whether you are visiting for a few days or just passing through, you will enjoy this island and find a way to come back again for sure.

How to get there: From Belize City, you can take the Water taxi (40 min) to get to Caye Caulker or the plane (8 min) with Tropic Air or Maya Island Air. From Mexico, you can take a Water taxi (+/- 2,5h) from Chetumal.

  1. My brother and I (including wives) sailed with Blackhawk in October of 2016 when visiting Caye Caulker. Steve is the greatest and the trip was the best part of our trip. We cannot wait for our next trip and you can bet we will be standing at Blackhawk begging to do another day sail. The Blackhawk rates are very reasonable and they treat you like family.

  2. Absolutely top class! Big Steve is totally willing to work with you for the kind of trip you want and he is a super relaxed and chill guy.
Blackhawk was absolutely the highlight of our Belize trip.
We did a three day sailing tour with him staying at various islands, eating our fresh catch on the beach, and stopping off in some amazing exclusive snorkeling locations. Totally the trip of a lifetime.

  3. Hoi Steve……just saying hello !
We are in Placencia now and relaxing a few days there before we move on again.
    Greetings Rianne and Vera

  4. I totally recommend going on this snorkel tour.. It is a private yacht which only had 6 of us which made it more intimate and fun.. The 3 reefs we saw out did one another each time.. We saw manatee, turtles, nurse sharks, sting rays, heaps of different fish and obviously plenty of reef.. The tour guides were lovely and it is the best snorkel I have been on by far.. Lunch was provided with fruit also, then for the trip back we had happy hour and a slow trip back.. I give this a 10/10.. Def stick to the smaller local tours..

  5. Blackhawk was incredible, awesome ambiance! Great food and better snorkeling! We swam with manatees, sting rays, and sharks. They encouraged us to go the next day due to weather and they were right. It wasn’t windy, weather conditions were perfect. These guys are great and well worth the money. I recommend going with them for sure!

  6. Thanks again for the tour. We didnt see you anymore in the I&I to thank you guys face to face. Brent thanks for the punch, and Steve thanks for the dolphins.
Miss you, could you please pick us up at Isla Mujeres?
